🎯Output | Copy score and Recall score
The Rey–Osterrieth complex figure test is a classic neuropsychological assessment in which participants are asked to reproduce a complicated line drawing, first by copying it freehand (copy), and then drawing from memory (recall). Many different cognitive abilities are needed for correct performance, and the test, therefore, permits the evaluation of different functions, such as visual-constructional ability, attention, planning, memory and executive functions.

To digitalise this paper-pen test, we simplified this task by making it more like a jigsaw puzzle. The Rey-Osterrieth complex figure is broken into 13 elements based on the scoring manual. Participants are required to drag each element into an empty canvas to copy the figure. Immediately after they finish the copy, they are asked to recall the figure from their memory.

To make this task re-testable, we also made new figures based on the 13 elements from the original Rey-Osterrieth figure. Here, after the recall, we have three copy trials where participants are asked to copy a randomised figure which contains all 13 elements from the original Rey figure but is constructed in a different way.
